The Real Estate Salesperson Course (or RES course) is a mandatory course for all aspiring real estate agents in Singapore.
After taking the compulsory lessons, candidates need to sit for and pass the RES examinations (Papers 1 and 2) before they could apply for a RES license and practise real estate in Singapore.
The RES exam is offered by the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) only 3 times a year currently.
The RES course is offered by several CEA-approved course providers. As the exam is notoriously difficult to pass, it would be an excellent idea to find an RES course provider with a good track record of helping candidates pass.
Complete List of RES Course Providers in Singapore
Important Note: Only courses conducted by CEA Approved Course Providers (ACPs) will be recognized for licensing purposes.
Currently, there are only 8 such ACPs for the RES course. Since 2020, online classes are now available as an option, in addition to regular classroom-style training. Both are recognized by CEA as long as they are conducted by any of the 8 ACPs.

RES Course Requirements & Pre-requisites
Candidates must have at least 4 GCE “O” Level passes or equivalent, which is one of the regulatory requirements for salespersons. The results can be taken at not more than 2 sittings.
If you have other qualifications (e.g. overseas or private diplomas), you could submit them to CEA to determine if they would meet the educational qualification requirement. This is done through the Approved Course Providers (ACPs) you intend to enrol at for the RES course. There is an administrative fee of $64.20 (inclusive of GST) for each application submitted. For more information on the administrative procedure, please contact the ACP you intend to enrol at.
Applicants who attained Level 5 and above for the Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) assessment in 5 components (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing and Numeracy) will be recognised to have met the minimum educational qualification requirement.
Candidates must attend and complete the RES course (with a minimum attendance rate of 75%) conducted by a CEA approved course provider before applying for the RES examination.
Important: You must take and pass the RES examination within 2 years of completing your RES course, beyond which you will be required to retake the RES course.
