Greater Southern Waterfront (GSW) Properties
Singapore has seen its share of mega projects, but probably none greater than the Greater Southern Waterfront, or GSW in short.
In a nutshell, GSW will be a brand new waterfront city with bustling residential, commercial and leisure spaces located at the southern region of Singapore.
The entire new downtown city spans from Pasir Panjang, to Keppel/Tanjong Pagar area, and all the way to Marina Bay and Marina East (next to Tanjong Rhu).
This is made possible as the Port of Singapore Authority will be shifting its operations out of Keppel and consolidating into the new mega Tuas port before 2030 (likely much earlier).
The Keppel Golf course will also vacate once its lease ends in 2021.
Why is GSW a Huge Deal?
GSW promises to be the new downtown of Singapore, changing the ways Singaporeans live, work and play, and at the same time, creating a brand new skyline for Singapore.
The land that GSW sits on is ultra-prime, with its close proximity to the current downtown area.
Also, despite Singapore being surrounded by sea, there is currently a lack of luxury waterfront housing in Singapore, except for perhaps a limited number of houses on Sentosa Cove.
GSW will incorporate elements of residential (both private condos and HDB flats), commercial (offices, retail malls), and leisure (parks, jogging/cycling trails, extension of Gardens by the Bay, new NTUC Downtown South).
Watch this space for the upcoming new condos that will be launching in GSW!
