SINGAPORE – After a frenzied 2019 in the new private residential sector, what’s in store for buyers and investors of new condos in 2021?

2019 saw an avalanche of new private homes launching throughout the year – the bulk of them was a result of increased en bloc (collective sales) activity the past few years.

After government measures to cool the en bloc market in 2018, en bloc activity has come to a screeching halt this past year, with barely any significant transaction.

As a consequence, 2020 will see comparatively fewer new condo launches, mostly from government land sales (GLS).

Nonetheless, there are some really exciting ones worth watching out for. Here’s some of our favorites.

Leedon Green

Formerly Tulip Garden Condo, Leedon Green is one of the most awaited new condo launches in 2020. Sitting at a unique location near Holland Village, this condo will prove to be a draw especially for people who love the bustling dining and cafe scene at Holland Village.

The Avenir at River Valley

Once known as Pacific Mansion, this prime site at River Valley will be redeveloped into an exciting new condo development by Guocoland.

Former Landmark Tower

Formerly known as Landmark Tower, this mouth-watering site at Chin Swee Road has undergone collective sale, and will be developed into a brand new condo under a developer consortium led by MCC Land. Located across a park opposite One Pearl Bank, all eyes will be on the former Landmark Tower condo when it launches in 2020.

Former Goodluck Garden

Another en bloc project, developers Qingjian and Perennial Real Estate will be hoping to rub off some luck from this former Goodluck Garden condo. Pluses include a Bukit Timah or district 11 address, as well as a freehold status. More than 600 units expected.

Kopar at Newton

Developer Chip Eng Seng snagged this hugely lucrative site at Newton Circus, literally next to Newton MRT station. Kopar at Newton is expected to be popular with its close proximity to Orchard Road and reputable schools.

The M Condo @ Middle Road

Located at a prime and rare spot in Bugis, The M Condo by Wing Tai Asia is one to watch out for, considering the dearth of such plump land parcels around this area.
